Our Story
Sawa Village is an Edmonton-based social enterprise connecting East African artisans with the Canadian market, built on respect, partnership, and shared prosperity.
Every piece we carry is handcrafted by skilled artisans in Uganda and Kenya. We work directly with makers, paying living wages 25% above local market rates, and preserving traditional techniques that deserve a global stage.
This is not charity. This is dignity, independence, and long-term prosperity for the artisans who make, and the people who choose with intention.
Bold Kitenge silhouettes and mudcloth drapes, made for the global stage.
Vibrant bucket hats in bold African prints, handcrafted for everyday style.
Hand-carved wood and hand-beaded fringe, rooted in East African heritage.
Kitenge patchwork clutches, kente bags, slippers, and much more.
